About Me

Welcome to my learning journal for the School of Vocational Teacher Education at Oulu University of Applied Sciences.

My background is in Art and Design and I have a BA (Hons) Art and Design from the University of Hertfordshire in UK; also I completed an MA Hypermedia at the University of Westminster.

I have experience both in education and working for companies such as Apple and Skype. I worked in various independent schools in London teaching technology from primary to middle school.

After working for Skype in Tallinn for couple of years in technical support I moved to Finland where I joined a startup company called Fifty Sixty Software in Helsinki as a trainee Project Manager. This experience was very valuable and I was able to draw on many different skills: from creating a promotional video for the game, to marketing and pitching the ideas to business angels. Currently I am working in an International School in Espoo where I teach electives such as photography and technology in a middle school. I would like to broaden my pedagogical skills and also gain professional recognition of my teaching experience. I am already quite fascinated with some of the material especially Models of Cognitive Development by Perry. I would like to follow his ideas on level of commitment and hope to be at the high level of commitment in the pedagogical study and work.

*I was asked to create a video introduction about myself so you can watch it here . Please use the password : Vocational
